NHCIBOR Cares Donates to the Portsmouth Aikido Veterans Program

On Veterans Day earlier this month, NHCIBOR Cares, which is the Charitable arm of the NH Commercial Industrial Board of Realtors presented a check to the Portsmouth Aikido Veterans program for $500. The check was a welcome addition to help with this fledgling program that strives to serve veterans through the principles of Aikido. NHCIBOR Board of directors member Dave Garvey presented the check.

Portsmouth Aikido offers free Aikido classes for veterans, uniformed services personnel and first responders. The classes follow a peer-to-peer model focusing on stress reduction, non-violent conflict resolution, and Aikido techniques for self-mastery. The program began with the guidance and encouragement of a dear friend Tom Osborn, founder of KNSA Aikido, who dedicated his life to using the art to help those who have served our community and our country. Classes are held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 10:30am-noon at Portsmouth Aikido. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, or the dojo is happy to provide you with your own martial arts uniform. For more information contact Portsmouth Aikido at portsmouthaikido.org.
